The reunion in Albuquerque was a great success. The Banquet dinner was one of the largest in recent years with over 100 members and guests in attendance. Our Honorary President, former 1st Bn Commander and subsequent Army Chief of Staff, GEN Fred Weyand and his wife Mary attended everything and had a great time. At the Reunion Dinner, Scott Rutter gave an enthusiastic, very thorough and inspired report of the Regiment's actions from OIF 1 to present. He and SSG Cordova, attending from Ft. Stewart, presented the national Infantry Association's Order of St. Maurice to Hiroshi Miyamura. Finally GEN Weyand related to us all some of the lessons which he carried forward from his days commanding First Battalion, ultimately to Viet Nam and his service as Chief of Staff.
