Photo Gallery - 2013 2-7 IN Post-Deployment Award Ceremony and Cottonbaler Monument Rededication

2013 - Fort Stewart, GA

On Friday, July 12th, 2013, the 2-7 IN Battalion held their Post-Deployment Award Ceremony and a re-edication of the Cottonbaler Monument with the completion of the Operation Iraqi Freedom/New Dawn Campaigns and the Operation Enduring Freedom Campaign.

The ceremony was wonderful. The ceremony started with the Awarding of the Campaign Streamers for Operation Iraqi Freedom/New Dawn to the 2-7 IN Colors. Then the Cottonbaler was unveiled by LTC Kelly and CSM Burns with the assistance of Cottonbaler Members Gene Owens and Dave Jensen. This was followed by comments from LTC Kelly, 2-7 Commander. He then presented the awards to the Battalion staff and then the Company Commanders and First Sergeants. The the Company Commanders started to present the awards to their soldiers. Just before the presention to all of the soldiers was completed, it started to rain. And then it really started to rain. The Ceremony was completed while it was still raining.

My congratulations go out to all of the 2-7 Soldiers for a job well done.

COTTONBALERS!
